Like many, I came to yoga during a time when I needed something that I could use to sink myself into & block the rest of the world out, to let go of the feelings of fear & suffocation that seemed to fill all the other minutes of the day. I was doubtful, but one day, I grabbed a pillow off the couch & pressed play. From the privacy of my living room, I let Adrienne (ya'll know Adrienne :D) guide me through one of the sweetest, most peaceful hours I can remember in the last few years. I was hooked. After about a week in of doing my best to keep up with a body that had clenched tight every inch of itself with the stress I had felt for so long, I knew I needed more. I lost a few points on my eyesight that week from researching all the online yoga teacher training schools, but I found what seemed to be a very in-depth 200 hour training & leapt in. A little over halfway through that training, I got wind that there was a yoga studio opening in Waupaca and there was a calling for me to reach out. Again, hooked! I've had the pleasure to begin Aerial Teacher Training as well as to have completed the Yoga Hive WI 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training (in addition to finishing the original 200-hour online program). An insatiable learner, I've also begun continuing hours of education in Ayurveda, Chair Yoga, Yin and Restorative Yoga. In so many ways, yoga saved me & I'm out to learn all the lessons it has to offer. For me, meditation is as important as the asana & it brings me great joy to share this time of purely relaxed still rejuvenation with you. Private yoga sessions, designed specifically for clients who are needing a more personal experience than we are able to give in the studio are also one of my great teaching joys!
When not in the studio, I'll be with my husband & crazy 5 year old, two Pit Bull brothers & an Australian Shepherd (dog) named Kitty. We are always outside & in the summer, we are definitely on the water. I'm always up for new books/podcasts, crafting EO's or digging my hands into photography, painting, writing, gardening or maybe binge-watching some Netflix! Schitt's Creek, anyone??? My Teaching: My personal practice follows more of the gentle flow of yoga, which is what I bring to the studio. I love to add in longer holds inspired by Yin & Restorative styles of yoga. You will most often always find some type of guided meditation in my classes. |
